Meet Christie Zgourides, Your Editing Expert

With over 20 years of professional experience in both business and academic settings as well as a diverse personal background, Christie is uniquely qualified to provide freelance writing and editing services to an equally diverse range of clients.

Christie taught writing and editing courses in the Portland, Oregon area, primarily for the University of Portland and Warner Pacific University. This included coordinating writing and editing courses with the business and engineering departments to train students in communicating complex technical information to a non-technical audience with concise and precise language.

Christie was among the first university faculty to transition to online education. She developed web-based content for two online universities, including instruction manuals that taught students online writing and editing.

Throughout her career, not only has Christie taught writing and editing in composition courses, but she has also edited a wide range of content, including academic publications, dissertations, self-help books, professional journal articles, memoirs, and fiction.

In addition to teaching, Christie has also been a bank manager and Practice Administrator (CEO) of a medical pathology laboratory where she oversaw all operations and human resources. This required extensive writing and editing of business materials, such as internal and external communications and training materials.

Christie excels at helping entrepreneurs in trades transform technical information into a form that non-technical managers and customers can understand. Her knowledge and experience with trades such as general construction, plumbing, electrical, and more give her broad-based skills that reach far beyond the classroom and the traditional office setting.

Currently, as a freelance writer and editor, she serves a wide range of clients in business, trades, web content development, and online publications as well as self and traditional publishing authors.
