When I’m writing, editing, or coaching an author, I’m not working; I’m having fun! I love what I do. Working with clients to address their needs energizes me. Regardless of the task, all writing, editing, and coaching are opportunities for me to help clients solve problems and convey meaningful ideas that make a difference — no matter the writing purpose or industry. I help you express what you need to say in the best possible version of your voice.

 I write and edit video scripts, blogs, web content, promotional emails, company procedure manuals, training materials, and more for global clients, including businesses, non-profits, educational institutions, and individuals. I am particularly adept at communicating complex technical information concisely and precisely to a non-technical audience. I also edit online articles and book manuscripts, including business, self-improvement, memoirs, and some fiction.

 Coaching first-time writers or published authors through their manuscript writing is particularly rewarding. When I intervene early to help them clarify their focus, organization, and voice, I see the quality of their writing improve and their confidence grow. Nothing delights me more.

 How can I work with such a wide range of projects? In short, my training and experience are as diverse as my clients and their needs. In addition to being an English writing and literature professor for over 20 years, both in person and online, I also have business experience in the restaurant industry, banking, and medicine as well as other experience in the automotive industry, construction, and agriculture.

 Whatever the purpose or format, written communication has never been more critical in our digital world. When I take on a project, I commit myself to it as fully as if it were my own, and I will bring my extensive expertise to the task, no matter how large or small the project.

 When I’m not working with a book author or developing and editing content, I spend time with my other passions: reading, cooking, hiking, traveling, and otherwise exploring the world in museums and other venues. I’m originally from the rugged Pacific Northwest, and while I love the region I’m from with its mountains, forests, and coastlines, I’m currently content living in the diverse and notably warmer climate of South Central Texas in San Antonio.
